
Foundation Scholarships and Grants
The Bill Pickett Memorial Scholarship Fund awards scholarships annually to outstanding students to further their education. Recipients are selected based on academic achievement, character, school and community involvement. Awards can be used for full or part time study at a technical school, a community college or a four-year university. Students must have already applied for or been accepted into a school at the time they apply for funding.
Applicants must meet all of the eligibility requirements and deadlines to qualify. Awards must be applied towards tuition, room and board, books and fees. Individuals applying for a scholarship must forward a complete application packet and it must be postmarked before the application deadline. Incomplete packets will not be considered. Checks will be made payable to the educational institution or student.
For an application to be considered complete you must include the following:
- Completed application form (Applicants under 18 years old must have a parent/guardian signature)
- Answer all of the essay questions on a separate piece of paper
- Provide transcripts of all completed high school and college coursework
- Confirmation of community service
- Recommendation letters

BPIRF Scholarships
We are excited to provide scholarships for deserving students nationally as they change the world. All applicants must submit applications and required paperwork by identified deadlines.
Lu Vason Founders Scholarship
Students graduating from high school or attending an accredited technical school, community college or four-year university in the United States.
Jesse Guillory Book Scholarship
Recipient will receive a scholarship to help with the cost of books. Eligible students are those graduating from high school or attending an accredited technical school, community college or four-year university in the United States.
Deadline is January 5, 2024
The Hats Off Grant
The Bill Pickett Invitational Rodeo Foundation and award-winning whisky brand, Crown Royal, have joined together to create The Hats Off Grant, aimed at supporting Black cowboys and cowgirls in the rodeo community. The purpose of this grant is to address the historical underrepresentation of Black individuals in the sport of rodeo and provide resources to help them thrive.

Sedgewick Haynes Memorial Calf Roping Grant
One BPIR Calf Roping contestant will receive a scholarship to cover calf roping fees for one year.
Applications for consideration must be received by January 5, 2024
Royalty I.D. Agricultural Sciences Scholarships
Royalty I.D. desires to make the largest and most positive impact they can within the rodeo and agricultural industries. Royalty I.D. works as a team and operates on a no-man-left behind mentality.
